Privacy Policy
The privacy policy for the Atlantic Coastal Cooperative Statistics Program (ACCSP), describes how and why we might collect, store, and process your information when you download and use our mobile applications, eTRIPS/mobile, eTRIPS/mobile EVAL, eDR/mobile, eDR/mobile EVAL, and SciFish.
All applications listed above follow this privacy policy. Projects that are available within the SciFish application follow this privacy policy unless otherwise noted in the About section of the application. Please take the time to review the About section of all projects in which you choose to participate.

We collect the name and e-mail addresses and/or telephone numbers of those who create accounts and aggregate information on mobile application usage.
Information entered by the user to complete a trip report, dealer report, or respond to a project survey is collected. These data are owned by the agency under whose jurisdiction they were collected and stored by ACCSP as stewards of the data. For more information on data ownership, please see "Will your information be shared with anyone?"
The information we collect is utilized to improve the content of our mobile applications, to customize the content and/or layout of the application for each individual user, and to potentially notify users about updates to the application. All requests for information from those that do not own and/or are authorized to access information, are referred to the data owner. Please see "Will your information be shared with anyone? for more details.
If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending us an e-mail at the below address.
From time to time, we may use application user information for new, unanticipated purposes not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes and we will use for these new purposes only data collected from the time of the policy change forward. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check our policy periodically.
Users may prevent their information from being used for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected by e-mailing us at the below address.
Upon request we offer users the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information, unique identifiers, and communications that the user has directed to the application. Users can have this information corrected by sending us e-mail at the below address.
Data collected in the eTRIPS/mobile, eTRIPS/moble EVAL, eDR/mobile, and eDR/mobile EVAL applications are owned by the agency under whose jurisdiction the data are collected. As stewards of the data, ACCSP shared the data with that agency and any others specified to have access by that agency. Users should consult specific agency privacy policies for more information.
When using the SciFish application, the user will determine in which project(s) to participate. Signing up with a project in the SciFish application indicates the user’s agreement to have their information shared with the staff of that project. As stated above, each project may have additional privacy policies to those stated here, which will be reflected in their About page. Users are encouraged to fully review the about page of all the projects in which they participate.
These applications do not use cookies or other tracing technologies.
Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA) consumers are allowed to request that the controller of their personal data:
- Confirm if the controller is processing their personal data.
- Correct inaccuracies in the consumer’s personal data that is collected by the controller.
- Delete personal data provided by or obtained about the consumer.
- Obtain copies of the personal data collected by the controller.
- Opt out of the processing of personal data for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, or further profiling.
Yes, this policy may be updated occasionally. This change will be indicated by an update “Last revised” date. The revised version will be effective as soon as it is published.
